Job Title – Special Events Manager/Beertender
Reports to – Ownership
Job Summary
At Benchtop, we believe that the taproom will be a key part of our success as it will likely be the first experience consumers have with our brand. The position will be responsible for making the taproom experience nothing short of exceptional. This person will be responsible for events to generate revenue and to create interesting content for social media to market our brand and tasting room experience. We are open to this job being part time at about 20-25 hrs per week. However, if applicant would prefer this be a full time position the balance of those hours will come beertending.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and executing special events in the taproom
- Managing food truck schedule as needed, catering (for special events) and creating and maintaining relationships with local food establishments that deliver to the taproom
- Help with ordering merchandise
- Managing entertainment, live music, and events schedule
- Manage social media account for Norfolk location
- If this is a full time position, this person will be beertending on a part time basis
Qualifications
- Prior event management experience
- Prior experience managing a social media account is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of craft beer, including basic understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership.
- Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people.
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs. and move full kegs with the aid of a dolly.
- Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of taproom equipment to address problems quickly and efficiently.
- Passion for craft beer and a desire to continuously improve
