COVID-19 UPDATE

Hello friends and family. We are sad to announce that starting today March 16 our tasting room will only be open for to go purchases. We feel it is our social responsibility to do our part in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are a small family run business with a small 7 bbl brewhouse and we depend on our tasting room business to stay afloat. We will be offering cans, bottles, and crowlers for to go purchases during our regular tasting room hours. We will not be filling growlers from home. Only new growlers or crowlers will be filled. We also have gift cards available for purchase. We will be posting daily updates on what beers are available. Please do consider supporting your local businesses so that we may continue to serve you in the future. We will be monitoring this situation closely and we will reopen for regular business as soon as we can safely do so.

The delicious is in the details

Construction is finally winding down at the brewery.  Final connections are being made and we will have Deutsche down in the next couple weeks to commission our system and we can start brewing some beer!!

The had the wonderful folks at Virginia Water Systems in the brewery installing our water treatments systems. Check them out here:  http://www.vawater.com/

These guys are legit. ¬†Although some may think it is overkill, we are not only removing chlorine from our brewing water, we are also running it through a UV system for further purification and then filtering it. ¬†You can’t make great beer without great water. ¬†Check it out:

If you think that was digging into the details, we have gone a step further to enhance the enjoyment of beers in our tasting room.  We actually split a line off of our clean chlorine free brewing water so we could send it to the tasting room rather than just providing city water.

This allows us to feed our glass rinser with non chlorinated practically sterile water.  This also gives a clean chlorine free source of drinking water for our customers!  Did we mention that Norfolk Plumbing is awesome?  These guys are absolutely great to work with.

Construction is moving along

Great news!  We are running glycol piping this week in addition to doing more of the electrical installation work on the brewhouse.  We also got started on our beautiful reclaimed wood bar.  Ben and Maeve at Black Creek Workshop are doing an incredible job and you guys are going to love this!  We are using some reclaimed Virginia dairy barn wood.  Pictures to start coming from that construction next week.  Check them out here:  http://www.blackcreekworkshop.com/

Here is a small sample of some of our beautiful wood!

We also started laying the ground work for our CO2 system as the great guys at Arc3 dropped this beauty by the brewery!
